Pforzheim\/Germany \u2013 24 October 2024 \u2013 Provertha is expanding its SMT solution portfolio for PCB connection with the Slimline M12 connector series. The new connectors are particularly impressive thanks to their slim design, robust spring-elastic contact design and compatibility with the circular connectors of other leading manufacturers on the market. The Slimline connectors for PCB mounting are available in two versions: unshielded or shielded with a one-piece shield clip in SMT connection technology (Surface Mounting Technology). Provertha provides customers with a reliable, compatible solution that is perfectly tailored to their applications \u2013 just completely \u201cFitting your Application\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

30% more resistance to high stress<\/b><\/p>\n

Thanks to the spring-elastic contacts and an enlarged soldering surface connection to the contacts, Provertha Slimline connectors achieve at least 30% more resistance to the SMT connections breaking off under high mechanical stress compared to standard M12 SMT connectors on the market. Their standard market-based footprint makes them compatible with the most commonly used SMT circular connectors available on the market, and they can easily be used as an alternative without changes to the PCB layout design.<\/span><\/p>\n

The M12 Slimline products can be used flexibly thanks to selectable codings (A, B, and D) \u2013 for example for sensor-actuator applications in industrial automation, for industrial Ethernet networks, and in miniaturised applications that are exposed to high stress<\/span>es<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Designed for high functional reliability and high current carrying capacity<\/b><\/p>\n

The Slimline female versions have a special contact design for high functional reliability under mechanical loads and are available with overall heights of 17 mm and 18 mm. The small design makes the Slimline connectors ideal for applications with very limited installation space. Another component for miniaturisation is the special design for close arrangement of the new tamper-proof M12 installation housing, which enables either push-pull or screw locking.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Slimline connectors with IP67 protection class have very good technical characteristics, e.g. a wide temperature range from -40 \u00b0C to +125 \u00b0C and a high current carrying capacity. The new Provertha connectors are made of high-temperature-resistant high-performance thermoplastic with high tracking resistance. The so-called Comparative Tracking Index (CTI value) \u2013 a measure of the tracking resistance of plastics \u2013 is over 600.<\/span><\/p>\n

Designed for automated processing<\/b><\/p>\n

All M12 SMT Slimline connectors are designed for reliable processability in the fully automated SMT process thanks to the high-temperature-resistant pick-and-place suction pads and tape-and-reel packaging. Narrow tapes allow the connectors to be accommodated on the feeder bank of the placement machine and take up minimal space.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new PCB connector solutions in M12 format complement the high-performance D-Sub connectors for PCB applications (TMC products).
